Who I am and where Baked Flies comes from

Hi, I’m Carma. I live at the foot of the Dolomites and I’m the human behind this project.

Fishing has been part of my life since I was a kid, but today fly fishing is something I live and breathe.

How it all started

The name Baked Flies comes from my past as a baker and pastry chef. I used to work in a bakery that unfortunately shut down. So, partly out of necessity and partly as a challenge, I decided to reinvent myself and turn my passions into a full-time job.

In January 2025, Baked Flies was born and since then I’ve been continuously “baking” tools and accessories for fly tying, fully designed and made in-house.

The transition from baker to what I do today wasn’t easy. I already had a passion for 3D printing, but I had to develop a wide range of new skills: building a website, running an ecommerce, creating content, designing and developing products. The list is long, and I’m proud of it.

Alongside my own tools, I also select and sell materials I personally use: high-quality fibers, wires, and components that I consider outstanding for building brushes, streamers, dry flies, and more.

At the same time, I work as a fly fishing guide in Trentino, one of the most interesting regions in Italy for this sport.

The vision

The goal is simple: keep innovating with new fly tying tools and accessories, deliver an increasingly professional guiding service, and grow a strong community of passionate anglers while taking Baked Flies further and further.

I believe the well-being, health, and future of our rivers also depend on projects like Baked Flies, where fly fishing is at the core.
