Tommi-Fly CDC Oil

CDC oil is a lubricant specifically made for Cul de Canard feathers.

Cul de Canard feathers grow around the duck’s uropygial gland, a small biological refinery that produces a waxy, lipid-rich substance. The duck uses it to waterproof its plumage. We use it to make our flies float better than any foam ever could.

When you apply CDC oil to a fly, you are not just “adding a floatant”.
You are restoring and amplifying the natural barrier that already lives inside the fiber.

Unlike pastes and sticks that create an external film, the oil penetrates the microstructure of the feathers, keeping the fibers separated, elastic, and hydrophobic. Water is not trapped. It is repelled. The fly stays light, high on the surface, and alive in the current.
